Our therapists specialize in head and neck problems, but are all trained in the treatment of orthopedic pain and injuries including back pain, repetitive strain injuries, hypermobility and fibromyalgia.

Collaborative Care for Complex Cases

At the Hobson Institute, we specialize in the “missing link” of patient care: the functional relationship between the head, neck, and airway. We act as a clinical partner to your practice, providing evidence-based cranio-facial physical therapy that supports your dental, orthodontic, or surgical outcomes.

Our clinicians spend a full 40 minutes of one-on-one time with every patient. This allows us to focus on the root causes of dysfunction, using evidence-based protocols in Craniofacial Therapy (CFC), Buteyko Breathing Method, Postural Restoration (PRI), and UPlocker Airway stabilization and Myofunctional Therapy. We are here to support your treatment plan for patients dealing with:

  • TMD and Jaw Pain: Addressing disc displacements and muscular imbalances.
  • Sleep Disordered Breathing: Supporting airway expansion and nasal breathing.
  • Tinnitus: Managing symptoms linked to cervical spine and jaw tension.

Pre- and Post-Surgical Rehab: Optimizing outcomes for orthognathic and craniofacial procedures.

Accepted Insurance & Billing Guidelines

To assist your administrative team, here is a clear overview of our current insurance standing:

In-Network Providers

Through our sister practice, Physical Therapy Renaissance, we are in-network with BlueCross BlueShield PPO plans and Medicare.

Out-of-Network

For all other providers, we operate as an out-of-network clinic. We do not submit claims for out-of-network benefits. However, we are happy to provide patients with a Superbill, which they can submit to their insurance for potential reimbursement.

Direct Access

Illinois is a direct access state. Patients may begin evaluation without a referral, though some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement.

Payment Options

We accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), CareCredit, and personal checks. All patients are required to keep a card on file.
